2026 International Conference on Intelligent Manufacturing and Intelligent Transportation Successfully Held in Xiamen!


On May 16, 2026, the 2026 International Conference on Intelligent Manufacturing and Intelligent Transportation (IMIT 2026) was successfully convened and concluded in Xiamen, China. Hosted by Jimei University, organized by its Navigation College, and co-organized by the AEIC Academic Exchange Center, the conference attracted over 130 experts, scholars, and researchers from more than a dozen domestic and international universities and research institutions, including Wuhan University of Science and Technology, South China University of Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Lanzhou Jiaotong University. The event served as a dynamic forum for discussing the latest research frontiers and innovative achievements in intelligent manufacturing and intelligent transportation, offering fresh perspectives and inspiration for future research and practice.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zhang Tao of Jimei University. Professor Chu Liangyong, Associate Dean of the Navigation College, delivered the opening address, in which he outlined the developmental heritage and future roadmap of Jimei University and its Navigation College. He called on participating experts to engage in thorough exchanges, build consensus, and deepen collaboration around the conference themes, and expressed his best wishes for a productive and successful gathering.

The keynote session featured a stellar lineup of four leading experts, each delivering insightful presentations on cutting-edge industry developments, breakthrough results, and forward-looking visions. The session offered a high-caliber academic feast that sparked lively discussion and enthusiastic responses from the audience.


Professor Wu Kaiming, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and professor at Wuhan University of Science and Technology, focused on the independent development of key steel materials for China's polar marine equipment. He elaborated on three major directions: high-toughness, easy-weldable hull steel for polar icebreakers; high-strength, low-temperature impact-resistant shafting steel; and propeller system steel designed with synergistic resistance to ice-load impact and seawater corrosion. His work provides critical support for enhancing China's self-sufficiency in polar equipment and strategic security.

Professor Zhang Tao of Jimei University presented on the construction of an all-scenario smart community enabled by the Internet of Things (IoT). He systematically introduced the space-air-ground-water integrated IoT technology framework, along with key breakthroughs in perceptual acquisition, cloud-edge collaborative data processing, scenario-based intelligent modeling, and early-warning security disposition across the entire workflow. These advances lay a secure and efficient technological foundation for smart community management.

Professor Liu Yajun of South China University of Technology addressed the inefficiencies and weak adaptability of traditional operational models in industrial scenarios. He detailed the development of an intelligent data‑glove integrating data acquisition capabilities, and demonstrated two application systems built upon it: a collaborative carrying system and a handheld electric drill intelligent control system. His work validates the feasibility and practical value of data gloves in human‑machine collaborative process control.

Professor Gao Zhibin of Jimei University, in the context of the 6G "communication-sensing-computing" convergence era, introduced traffic task optimization strategies incorporating social‑attribute sensing, as well as a fog‑computing multi‑timescale resource scheduling framework for heavy intelligent transportation tasks. His research offers novel approaches for building efficient and sustainable Internet of Vehicles service systems and integrated space‑air‑ground‑sea transportation dispatching.

The conference also featured a dedicated session for young scholars' oral presentations. Eight emerging researchers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Jimei University, the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Development Planning, Shanghai Dianji University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, and the Management Cadre Institute of the Ministry of Transport, among others, shared their innovative ideas and practical application experiences on topics including low‑altitude logistics path optimization, highway free‑flow tolling, dynamic sharing of bus lanes, long‑term trajectory prediction, and yacht night‑navigation vessel domain modeling. Their presentations not only provided rich and highly instructive academic material for attendees but also stimulated broad intellectual resonance and deep inspiration, thereby fostering the growth of young talent and energizing academic vitality.
